This year Aromatherapy Awareness Week is from June 12th – June 16th! It’s run by the International Federation of Aromatherapists and was created to raise awareness about the benefits of aromatherapy. This year’s topic is Aromatherapy and Mental Health.
Using essential oils can be very beneficial for relieving stress, insomnia (especially for children), and other medical conditions. Aromatherapy can be helpful for curing a mental condition like depression as well. Mental health affects every age group and UK-based statistics show that 10% of children and young people have a mental health problem; mental health is also the leading cause of sickness absence in the workplace. The therapeutic benefits of essential oils have been known since ancient times and have been successfully used by medical practitioners in other countries of Europe since the early 20th Century.
